Kotahi Hub's mission
Kotahi Hub's mission
The story of Kotahi Hub is one of connection. Designed to bring clubs, friends and families together, Kotahi Hub will create a place where everyone feels welcome, finds a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to be part of something bigger.
Why Kotahi Hub matters
Sport and recreation clubs are the backbone of communities like Morrinsville. For generations, local clubs have brought people together, built friendships, and given our community somewhere to belong.
But running a club today is harder than it used to be. Costs are rising, volunteers are harder to find, facilities need upgrading, and people's lives are busier than ever. Clubs that once thrived independently are facing the same pressures - often alone.
Kotahi Hub was created to change that.
By bringing local clubs together under one shared organisation, we can do more collectively than any club could do on its own. Better facilities. Less burden on volunteers. More funding opportunities. And a Campbell Park that works harder for more people.
At the same time, we know sport and recreation aren't just for club members. Kotahi Hub is here to make sure everyone in our community - families, kids, seniors, newcomers - has a place to get active, have fun, and connect.
Clubs stronger. Community welcome. Campbell Park for everyone.
Our story so far
In early 2025, the clubs at Campbell Park made a decision that would change things for the better. Morrinsville Sports Club, Kereone Rugby & Sports Club, and Morrinsville Netball Centre - each with their own proud history- came together and unanimously agreed to try a different way forward.
Working alongside Sport Guidance Ltd and Sport Waikato, they went through a structured process to design something new: a shared organisation that could support the clubs, develop the facilities, and open Campbell Park up to the wider community.
That organisation became Kotahi Hub - established in 2026 as a registered charitable society, governed by a community board, and grounded in partnership with Ngāti Haua.
It wasn't a merger. No club gave up its identity or independence. It was simply three clubs deciding that Morrinsville deserved more and choosing to build it together.
Kotahi - unity, togetherness.
